NFBPA has recognized leaders from throughout the country for their dedication and hard work to enhance public service.
Each year a limited number of individuals receive the award to spotlight their achievements and to say “Thank You for your exemplary leadership qualities, inspiring others to strive for excellence and demonstrating the core values aligned with the NFBPA mission and goals”.
NFBPA has a tradition of honoring those who have outstanding accomplishments in public service as part of our mission. NFBPA was founded in 1983 to strengthen the capacity of government managers and to prepare and support younger aspiring administrators for senior management positions. NFBPA membership includes over 2,500 individual members representing more than 350 local jurisdictions in 36 states. There are currently 38 local chapters of NFBPA.
Inspired public leaders not only influence others, but create a sense of direction of purpose for those around them and within their communities. We want our leaders to inspire, empower, and lead important causes. Proceeds from the Leadership Awards Dinner are used to support the NFBPA’s professional development programs, particularly the Executive Leadership Institute and Mentor Program.
